Joined the teaching career in 2005. Taught Lower Secondary Science (2005 - 2007) and Upper Secondary Computer Studies (2007). Went for a Post Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore specialising in Design and Technology (2007 - 2008). Started teaching Design and Technology in 2009.
Teaching came to me in the weirdest of all circumstances. When I finish my "A" Level, I was actually offered a teaching education in UBD which I declined, telling my mother that I will never teach in my entire life because teaching is such a routine work. So I ended up in Singapore pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering and worked there for 2 years before I return to teach. Now, I must say teaching is not a routine and boring work but a highly challenging task every day. You have to be teaching to understand what it means. I enjoy the interactions I get with my kids. They are individuals with different likes, needs and wants, thus to be able to capture all their attention in the classroom really gives you great satisfaction.
Kids being "children" are curious-being and when you teach, you also learn a lot from them through their questions and answers. I am a firm believer that we learn and we study together in the classroom. Even to these days i am constantly learning. Its a life-long process.
